Daniela is a collaborator in the project of structural recovery of the Marian Shrine of the Blessed Virgin "Noli me tollere", (from the Latin, “Do not remove”), who has decided to live her life between her native Sardinia and Florida (USA). Just when we heard about this new journey, we asked Daniela (already accustomed to similar missionary works) to take a small statue of the Virgin of Sorso across the ocean. A brief search allowed us to find the nearest Capuchin fraternity to Miami and our missionary catapulted herself to deliver the unexpected gift to Fort Lauderdale, FL (located in the outskirts of Miami). This fraternity, dedicated to St. Pio of Pietrelcina was founded in 2019. The friars residing there, belong to the province of New Jersey.
Currently living in the convent are guardian Father Robert Williams, Father Nick Mormando, Brother Lombardo D'Auria, and theology student Brother Brian Sullivan. Daniela's arrival was perceived, as it really was, a "providential act."..... Click here to read more

This new friary and ministry in Atlanta roots them in the foundation of their community started in the 16th century, said Brother Robert. The early Capuchins wanted to live as close as possible to the life of St. Francis of Assisi by being with the materially poor, he said. In Atlanta, that is where they will focus much of their work.
Since arriving at the end of July, the two friars have worked with the Missionaries of Charity, spent time with refugees and helped at this small ecumenical Christian church, Mercy Community Church, with its free meals, sharing clothes, Bible discussions and welcoming all.
On July 27, 2020, Auxiliary Bishop Ned Schlesinger welcomed the friars to the Archdiocese of Atlanta at the Chancery.
Our brother, Francisco Chavez was officially received into the postulancy program along with his classmates.
Please keep our brother and all men discerning to become Capuchins in your prayers.
