Province of the Sacred Stigmata of St.
Francis
Elects New Provincial and Definitory

As many of you know, the XIV Chapter of the Province
of the Sacred Stigmata of St. Francis took place from
October 19-October 23 at St. Lawrence Friary in
Beacon, NY.  This year, the president of the Chapter
was Br. Mark Schenk, O.F.M. Cap., General Definitor for
the Mid-American Conference and the facilitator of the
Chapter was Fr. John Pavlik, O.F.M. Cap., Provincial
Minister of the Province of St. Augustine.

Chapter is a time of fraternity, a time for prayer and a
time to discuss the life and ministry of the Province.
The entire Province assembles every three years to
elect the Provincial Minister and a council of advisors to
govern the Province.  At each chapter, a plan for the
direction of the Province is established.  This year,
there were discussions outlining new strategies for
Vocations and conversations detailing plans for the
Formation of young friars.  All discussions that took
place at the XIV Chapter are part of the pastoral plan
being developed and are to be set in place by 2009.

Congratulations to Fr. Brian Tomlinson, O.F.M. Cap. for
getting re-elected as Provincial Minister and Fr.
Nicholas Mormando, O.F.M. Cap for his re-election as
Vicar.  Further congratulations to: Fr. Ronnie Giannone,
O.F.M. Cap. elected II Definitor, Fr. John LoSasso,
