On Tuesday January 19, 2010 Fr. Edmund Walker
was born into eternal life at the age of 72. He was
born in Rochester, NY on June 26, 1937 to Harold
and Laurene Kane Walker. In 1951 Fr. Walker began
his studies at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary at
the age of 14. He was ordained a priest in 1963.
Fr. Edmund served the Province in many ways as a
Parish Priest, Hospital and Nursing home Chaplain,
Provincial Secretary, and Formator for young men
coming into the life. He lived in New Jersey, New
York, Delaware, Virginia, and for a short time, in
Kansas. His joyful spirit was always felt by the
Friars. He always had time to share his ideas over
a cup of coffee. He spent the last few months in our
infirmary in Beacon, NY.
Edmund is survived by his brother and two sisters,
as well as several nieces and nephews. We ask you
to join with our prayers in praying for the repose of
his soul.
