Capuchin Franciscan Friars Missionary Activity Building Bridges...Bringing Hope...

Throughout history bridges have been built to link one
land to another. But there is another bridge that is being
built everyday. It is a bridge that links compassion and
hope.
In 1964, four Friars of the Province of the Stigmata started
their journey to Zambia on the first missionary activity
abroad. In 1971 a boat carrying a Friar, a Sister and a
mother with an infant sank while they were crossing the
Zambezi river in order to get appropriate medical
assistance. Since that day Br. Crispin Valeri, O.F.M. Cap.
started to get materials in order to build a suspension
bridge, something that sounded like a mission
impossible. The 6 month project took over 4 years and
was only completed because of determination, generous
benefactors and a steady plea for God's help. Since
then, many bridges have been built but many still need to
be built.
Together with the prayers and financial assistance of our
benefactors we'll keep building bridges and we'll
continue to bring hope.
Be part of our building team!!
