Br. Lombardo D'Auria honored
for Volunteer Service
Br. Lombardo D’Auria, from Our Lady of
Consolation Friary, was honored at a World AIDS
Day observance for his volunteer work with the
Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN).

The award presented by the State of North
Carolina Communicable Disease branch, is given
for Lombardo’s work within the Latino community
in the Charlotte area. The award was presented at
the Charlotte World AIDS Day Volunteer
Recognition Banquet at the Sheraton Imperial
Hotel & Convention Center in Research triangle
Park, NC.  Congratulations, Br. Lombardo, to you
and the work done by RAIN!

Br. Lombardo is in studies at Belmont College and
volunteers at the Uptown Shelter of Charlotte, a
238-bed facility that provides shelter, meets basic
needs and provides access to transitional
services for homeless men in the greater
Charlotte area.  He also teaches English as a
second language for the Latino community.  On
Sundays he teaches religious education at Our
Lady of Consolation Parish in Charlotte.
